Instrumentation
The Facility currently houses five spectrometers. These instruments are listed below:
- Bruker Avance UltraStabilized 800 MHz Spectrometer - This spectrometer is our newest instrument. It is housed in 41 Schweitzer Hall. This system has the latest and most advanced UltraShield Plus magnet with four-channel Avance III console, equipped with a 5-mm ATM (automatic match and tuning) TCI probe with cryo-chilled 1H and 13C preamplifiers; It has enhanced direct 13C-detection capabilities.
- Varian Inova 600MHz Spectrometer - The spectrometer is housed in 2 Chemistry Bldg. The spectrometer is equipped with four radiofrequency (rf) channels and an HCN cryo-probe. It is controlled by VNMRJ 2.1B software running on a Linux PC.
- Bruker DRX 500MHz Spectrometer - The spectrometer is housed in 6 Chemistry Bldg. and is equipped with three rf channels and a cryo-chilled TCI probe. It is used both for small molecules and bio-molecules.
- Bruker DRX 300MHz Spectrometer - The spectrometer is housed in 32 Chemistry Bldg. and is equipped with two rf channels, routinely operated with a 5-mm BB probe and has solid state capabilities (CP-MAS accessory).
- Bruker ARX 250MHz Spectrometer - The spectrometer is housed in 32 Chemistry Bldg. and is equipped with two rf channels and a QNP probe (1H, 13C, 19F and 31P). The instrument is used mostly for routine purposes.
