Field of Research

Research in the Sharp group focuses on inorganic and organometallic synthesis directed towards the modelling of catalytic and enzymatic reactions, the activation of small molecules, and the preparation of new materials. Projects include (1) the chemistry of late transition metal-N and O bonds as occurs in oxo, imido, amido, hydrazido, and related complexes, (2) the organometallic chemistry of edge-bonded polycyclic aromatic complexes, and (3) the controlled synthesis of Au clusters and the chemistry of new reactive Au clusters.
